Studio News from CathyJean Clark, Hummingbird Press Four Moons has been accepted into the exhibit Transferring Ink 2 at the Fallbrook Art Center, Fallbrook, CA from Sept 6 through Oct 23, 2010. The exhibit will contrast historical prints with contemporary prints. Sounds interesting. http://www.fallbrookartcenter.org/exhibitions-a-events/upcoming/95-100-years-of-prints-1910-2010.html# I have been working hard at finishing an etching, but switched gears to do some different work, monotypes of plants. It was very inspirational and exciting. Mixing, layering, printing and anticipating the results, which are pretty good. Some of these new Nature Prints can be seen at the Dooryard Gallery, Watertown Plank Rd. Elm Grove, WI http://dooryardgallery.com. Flowers and Ferns- monotype I have been invited to participate in a group exhibit, Multiple Views of the Universe, at Gallery 450, University of WI Marshfield/Wood County, Marshfield, WI. . The other artists are: Kathyrn Petke, Professor Kitty Kingston, Tessie Kloch, and Susan Wendlandt. Its an honor to exhibit with such skilled and talented artists. The exhibit runs until Aug. 1st. http://marshfield.uwc.edu My piece Rock Garden II was juried into the Northern National Art Competition, Nicolet College, Rhinelander, WI. This exhibition has been around for some time and it has always had very prominent jurors. This years juror was Larry Mc Neil, Professor of Art at Boise State College, Idaho. The exhibit runs July 27 through Sept 10 http://www.nicoletcollege.edu/community/eventsentertainment/artgallery/index.html Rock Garden II- mixed media intaglio Also some exciting news is I have been selected to have a solo exhibit at the University of WI Madison Arboretum Steinhauser Trust Gallery, Madison, WI in March and April of next spring. So I will be very busy trying to get lots of new work finished for the exhibit. I will also take my large drawings, they never get to go anywhere and deserve to get out and be seen. That's all that's new for now, its just work, work, work, I really love it. Everyday walking to my studio, I think I am in heaven. CathyJean Clark |
